Used Hotel Soap Fights Cholera In Haiti

Since October, cholera has swept through Haiti, killing more than 1,000 and hospitalizing more than 25,000 people. Hand washing is the best ways to prevent cholera, but many Haitians can’t afford soap, so the non-profit group, Clean the World, is sending Haiti a million used, soap bars that hotels in North America throw away everyday.

Ireland's Conor O'Brien Steps Out On His Own

Dublin-based Conor O’Brien decided to start his one-man band “Villagers” after his college trio suddenly broke up. O’Brien writes all the songs and plays most of the instruments on his debut album, “Becoming A Jackal,” and his music has drawn comparisons to artists like Leonard Cohen and Sufjan Stevens.
