‘The Heat’ Offers Twist On The Buddy Cop Genre

Like a lot of summer weekends, this weekend brings a new buddy cop movie. But this one, called “The Heat,” is a little different.

The buddy cops in “The Heat” are played by Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock.

Joining us to talk about this twist on a familiar genre is Linda Holmes, who writes and edits NPR’s pop culture blog Monkey See.
