Dominican superstar Juan Luis Guerra is up for six awards, leading all nominees.

In fact, in the competition for Song of the Year, Guerra is competing against himself for his song “En El Cielo No Hay Hospital” and for “Azul Sabina,” the song he co-wrote and produced for the Colombian rocker Juanes.

José Massó, who hosts the WBUR program “Con Salsa,” gives us a preview of some of his favorite selections from the nominees, including 2008 MacArthur Foundation grant winner Miguel Zenón.

José Massó’s Latin Grammy Music Selections:

1. Juan Luis Guerra: “En El Cielo No Hay Hospital”
2. Juanes, Juan Luis Guerra & Joaquín Sabina, “Azul Sabina” performed by Juanes & Joaquín Sabina
