Jeb Bush Criticizes GOP And Mitt Romney

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush speaking in Miami in January. (AP)

Is Jeb Bush pulling a Bill Clinton?

The former Florida governor seemed to be following in the former president’s footsteps when he went off-message Monday and criticized not only the Republican Party, but Mitt Romney.

Bush said that neither Ronald Reagan nor his father, George H.W. Bush, would fit in with today’s Republican Party because there’s no room for disagreement.

He also said Mitt Romney should change his tone on immigration. Bush said that Romney boxed himself into a corner during the primaries with strong anti-immigrant rhetoric. Bush advised that Romney should find another message that will help him court the growing Hispanic vote.

Bush has repeatedly said that he doesn’t want to run for vice president, and his recent statements may have cemented that position for him.

But political experts say that Bush may be setting himself up as the GOP centrist stalwart and for a potential presidential run in 2016.
