On the final day of campaigning before Saturday’s South Carolina primary, polling suggests it’s a close race between Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney.

Political analyst Mark Halperin said on MSNBC’s Morning Joe that although Mitt Romney could still win South Carolina, right now it looks like “Gingrich is probably going to win this primary.”

South Carolina’s Sen. Jim DeMint declared it a “two-man race.”

Meanwhile, Romney won the endorsement of the Charleston Post and Courier Friday.

And Santorum, who turned up on C-SPAN, said the GOP presidential race “has just transformed itself in the last 24 hours” and that’s he’s still very much part of the mix.
