Romney’s Bain Record Has Private Equity Under The Microscope

GOP hopeful Mitt Romney’s days as head of the private equity firm, Bain Capital, have become an issue on the campaign trail– and they’re coming up in South Carolina, ahead of Saturday’s primary there.

Bain invested in at least two South Carolina companies in the 80s that ended up shutting down factories in the state, and laying off hundreds of people.
