Libyan Rebels Getting Military Advisors From E.U. Nations

France says it already has military liaison officers on the ground in the rebel-held city of Benghazi and, at the request of the rebels, President Nicholas Sarkozy says France will intensify air strikes against Moammar Gadhafi’s forces.

Italy’s defense minister has ruled out sending ground troops to Libya and there is concern in Europe and in the U.S. about mission creep in Libya.

We speak with BBC diplomatic correspondent Jonathan Marcus, who calls the two month stalemate between rebels and Gadhafi troops in the city of Misrata “a symbol of the rebel forces’ tenacity, and of the inadequacy of NATO’s strategy.”
