The Associated Press reports that the streets of Tripoli, Libya, are littered today with the bodies of slain protesters, after pro-government forces cracked down on anti-government demonstrators by shooting anyone outside on sight.

Amid the crackdown, leader Moammar Gadhafi appeared on state TV early today to show he was still in charge, brandishing a large umbrella and wearing a cap with fur ear flaps, and denying reports he had left the country. We speak to one of the anti-government protesters in Tripoli, a 31-year-old man named Ahmed, who did not want to use his last name.

We also speak with Max Fisher, associate editor at The Atlantic, where he edits and writes for the International channel.
